Lecture: Collecting Old Master Prints in the 21st Century

Join the Portland Art Museum for a lecture with Armin Kunz, Owner, C.G. Boerner LLC, New York and Düsseldorf. This talk is organized in honor of the Museum’s recent acquisition of Adam and Eve, a celebrated 1638 etching by Rembrandt van Rijn.

The introduction of printmaking in the 1400s represents a watershed in the history of Western Art. Old Master artists such as Albrecht Dürer and Rembrandt van Rijn made some of their finest work in etchings and engravings. Old Master prints are still relevant today and represent unique collecting opportunities for both museums as well as individuals. Come learn what makes these prints so compelling today.
