Artist Talk, Poetry and Jazz

Join painter and print maker Christy Wyckoff, sculptor Kanetaka Ikeda and Seattle painter and poet Alan Lau to discuss the artwork in their three-person show at Blackfish Gallery. Enjoy a poetry reading from Lau, accompanied by jazz bassist Andre St. James. Lau, whose many talents won him the Seattle Mayor’s Arts Award, will share poems about art, artists and the late, great jazz pianist Thelonius Monk. Bassist Andre St. James works regularly with his own quintet and with luminaries such as Mel Brown and Dan Balmer and giants like Sonny Rollins. Wyckoff has a long, distinguished career as an artist and educator at PNCA. Ikeda is among the founding members of Blackfish Gallery.
