Art Conversations 2018: Material Matters: Collecting Ephemeral Art

Join Froelick Gallery for the second in a series of Art Conversations presented by the Portland Art Dealers Association. In this conversation Nicole Nathan, trained in curatorial practice and collections care and now the Executive Director of the Arts Council of Lake Oswego, and Robert Krueger, object conservator and proprietor of Cascadia Art Conservation Center, along with Charles Froelick will discuss the use of non-traditional materials in contemporary art:  What exactly is ephemeral art, should you collect; how to recognize potential issues; and care of collections with artwork made from unconventional materials.

This is the second installment of PADA's Art Conversations 2018, a monthly series of gallery talks focused on art collecting and the arts ecology of our city, which began March 13 at the Portland Art Museum and continues through December 2018.
