Lecture: 'Empire and Memory at the Portland World’s Fair'

Join the Portland Art Museum for a lecture with Lisa Blee, Ph.D., Associate Professor of History, Wake Forest University. This event is presented in conjunction with the special exhibition Paris 1900: City of Entertainment. The 1905 Centennial Exposition in Portland commemorated the anniversary of Lewis and Clark’s expedition. It was intended to showcase arts and modern industry of the day, as well as incorporate Portland into national narratives of empire.
