D. E. May: Postcards from Islandsalem
D. E. May: Postcards from Islandsalem chronicles the life of this nationally recognized Salem mixed media artist (1952-2019), who was born in Salem and who spent his entire life here, referring to it as "Islandsalem." The exhibition features a range of his drawings and constructions made from found materials--cardboard, old maps, different types of paper, and stamps--and includes a number of works from the late artist's studio as well as the Hallie Ford Museum of Art, which has a large body of May's work.
