Exhibition Tour and Discussion: Willie Little

Froelick_02 Dixie (fied) Lady Liberty 11917 Froelick_2a.jpeg

Join Froelick Gallery for an exhibition tour and discussion with Willie Little. Little, an artist and storyteller originally from North Carolina, draws upon his early experiences observing his parent’s tarpaper and tin roof store, which served as a hub for the local African-American community both as a grocery and as an after-hours juke joint, a place for dancing and social gathering. His sculptural assemblages also incorporate vintage racial stereotype objects that he embellishes, reclaims and redefines beyond their original hateful intent.
