Reed College welcomes Rodrigo Valenzuela for an artist lecture. Valenzuela studied art history and photography at the University of Chile (2004) and holds a BA in Philosophy from The Evergreen State College and an MFA from the University of Washington. Recent residencies include Core Fellowship at the Museum of Fine Arts (Texas), Skowhegan school of Painting and Sculpture (Maine), MacDowell Colony (New Hampshire), Bemis Center for Contemporary Arts (Nebraska), Lightwork (New York) and the Center for Photography at Woodstock (New York). His recent series, American-type, was presented by Upfor at The Armory Show in New York in March. A selection is currently on view in Upfor’s backroom.
